Did you know that French is the fifth language most spoken in the world? Although English is the dominant language in the world, French has become the only other language to be present on every continent. According to a study published in 2022 which took place over 112 countries and territories, around 321 million people speak French on Earth. That same study found that Sub-Saharan Africa has the highest number of French speakers. This region even experienced a fifteen percent increase in its number of French speakers between 2008 and 2022. French is also recognised as a working language in many international organisations, including the United Nations and the European Parliament. Although French can sometimes be perceived as a very academic language, it has a far bigger impact than what most people think. Indeed, being able to speak French will boost your employability, which will open up your chances of working in different French-speaking countries. So, are you ready to join the millions of people that speak the language of Molière?
