Tu es means “you are”So when you ask someone Are you hungry?It should be Tu es faim?But why are we saying?Tu as faim?

In French, we use 'avoir' ( and not être) for expressing thirst, cold, hunger, fear, etc.
so it will be -
tu as faim? = are you hungry?
tu as froid? = are you cold?
tu as soif? = are you thirsty?
tu as peur? = are you frightened?
