c’est bon vs elle est bonne

One of the tests has this question:

“Cette pomme est bonne.”

“Oui, c’est bon.”

And I fail to understand why “Oui, elle est bonne.” is wrong when we are clearly talking about a specific apple...?

Hi Jordan,

You can say

Elle est bonne !

referring to a particular apple, but the general comment

c'est bon !

was the point of the quiz.

Vous aimez les gâteaux au chocolat ?

Oui, c'est bon!

The Kwizzes only test one element at a time so free speech cannot be accepted within the confines of the system.

Bonne Continuation!

Hi Jordan,

Was not the quiz testing the use of -

C'est + adjective ?

It might have been testing that, but I'd still like to know why "elle est bonne" would be wrong here!

Was "Elle est bonne" listed as an answer and marked wrong, or just not listed as a possible choice? «Elle est bonne» is correct too (feminine form of adjective to agree with the subject/pronoun, but the lesson and quiz seem to have been focussed on knowing that adjectives after «c'est» are always in masculine form.

Thank you for the explanation. I am not sure if "elle est bonne" was a choice at all in that quiz so this might be why I got confused however I am glad to know that it is correct too!

Think you are also talking about cette pomme rather than la pomme
