'en' can be used both such as feminine and masculine noun?

Question

If 'en' suppose to put before feminine country name, then why we should to put before masculine noun 'en hiver'? Could someone help me in this case?

Bonjour Mohammed,
"en" is a very versatile word in French. Generally it means "in" or "to" but not just that (as pointed out in the link that Jim has shared).

Je vais en ville = I am going into town
Je voyage en train = I travel by train
Je vais en France = I am going to France
Il neige en hiver = It snows in winter
Je coupe le gâteau en deux = I cut the cake in two
