Having listened several times to the text, I still hear 'part il fait beau' and not 'quand il fait beau'! Am I missing something here?

Not sure why you are hearing 'part' and not 'quand' . There is a pause between bien and quand but maybe the liaison between 'quand' and 'il' is throwing you -
it sounds like -
quantil fait beau

I, like all the other responders, hear "part" not quand, no matter how many times I replay it and no matter how much I understand that this IS what it says.  Very difficult to clearly understand this liason

I agree, I too hear the "p", I only worked it out because I thought about it and the only English word to go with that which made sense was "when"

I can't hear "quand". It seems like the a split second of the beginning of the recording has not been included properly.

I think somewhere there's a lesson about how "d," as in quand, sometimes sounds like a "t" to make an elision with the following vowel, as in Quand il [quan-til]. Sorry I can't put my finger on it. If I'm correct maybe someone from Kwiziq can point it out.
