Hi Debbie,

If you mean -

Ce jour-là, Marie ___ la vérité That day, Marie discovered the truth 

The only accepted answer is 'découvrit' which is the passé simple of the verb 'découvrir'.

The future would be wrong and would have been -

découvrira
