Translation: these experiences would make me...

Can I translate:

"These experiences would make me a better cook,"

as

"Ces expériences *me feraient* un meilleur cuisinier,"

[the given answer which I am not arguing with = "Ces expériences *feraient de moi* un meilleur cuisinier,"]

Hi all,

The expression is ‘faire de moi’ which means literally ‘to make of me’.

e.g.

Cette expérience a fait de moi une militante = This experience has made me an activist

Tous ces changements ont fait de moi une personne plus forte = These changes have made a stronger person of me

Est-ce que cela fait de moi un travailleur autonome?Does this make me a self-employed worker?

You cannot say ‘ m’a fait’ but in all these examples but you could change the pronouns to - toi, elle, lui, nous, vous, elles, eux

Hope this helps !

Thanks Ann and Steve, I have the same questions.

Is there anyway I can follow peoples input? As I forget to look back and hard to find the area to see what the responses are?

Dragon, you should get an email notice as I did just now with your comment.
