Why "dans le frigo" instead of "du frigo?"
One takes the beer not *in* the fridge but *from* the fridge, which should be "de", shouldn't it?
This question relates to:French writing exercise "Thanksgiving with family"

Hi Lukas,
In French when you take something out of something the construction indicates where the article was before it was moved, thus:
Il prend le beurre dans le frigo - He takes the butter out of (from) the fridge.
Prenez une chemise dans le tiroir - Take a shirt out of the drawer.
Quelqu'un a bu dans cette bouteille - Someone has drunk from this bottle.
Just one of the little subtleties that make learning French so easy ;-)!
Hope this helps,
Tom
