avoir or être with Monter
The quiz asks "Hier, tu ________ monté mes valises dans ma chambre." The correct answer is "as", but the lessons says to use être if there is a "dans". So why isn't it "tu es monté ... DANS ma chambre?
This question relates to:French lesson "Monter can be used with avoir or être in Le Passé Composé depending on its meaning in French"

I see what you mean Laura, it can be confusing.
The important bit is that in the case of monter les valises, the verb monter has an object ( les valises) so it will use avoir and not être.
Look at the difference between -
Tu es monté dans ma chambre ? = Did you go up to my room?
and
Tu as monté mes chaussures dans ma chambre ? = Did you take my shoes up to my room?
I will flag this up and see if we can rephrase the explanation.
Bonne Continuation !
